I’m 42 and getting ready to have my second abortion.
I had my first one last year at 41.
I have 6 children who I’ve raised and taken care of basically by myself with no family and the last threes’ father passed away.
I’m one of those people who you can sneeze on and get pregnant.
Last year I decided to live life again, start dating and just doing something other then working my two jobs, raising children and staying in the house. I wanted to have a little freedom, feel good again etc.
I started casually dating and ended up having sex with a man. We used a condom. That condom came off and he told me he didn’t finish. So I thought I was fine but 5 weeks later I missed my period.
I also have thyroid issues. I’m thinking I’m 41. My youngest is 9 I have thyroid issues now. There’s no way I’m pregnant.
Well here I was, morning sickness started. I took a test and I was pregnant. I went in and had a surgical abortion at 8 weeks.
The abortion itself wasn’t bad and I didn’t feel horrible about it. I was raised catholic and my mother spoke often about abortion being a sin, so of course I felt a little guilt until I start looking it up myself and I no longer believe this.
It was the best decision I could make for my mental, physical and financial health. I have all the kids I want already.
Fast forward to this year. I recently started talking to a guy who is great. We started being sexually active. I’m 42 and he’s 49. I’m on Opill birth control and I only had sex with him twice last month and here I am skipped another period!!
Took a test yesterday and I’m pregnant. I made an appt for another abortion! I don’t want any more children and I can’t mentally deal with it.
Of course now I feel like I should probably never have sex again ugh. I’m literally traumatized but abortion is definitely the best option for me and I’ll never judge anyone who makes that choice.
Do what’s best for you regardless of what you’re taught. I struggled many years raising kids in poverty. Working 2-3 jobs to get us where we were financially stable.
I am mentally and physically drained from raising children. It was never even able to be a good experience for me because I had to work so hard.
Half of my children are grown now and I’m more financially stable, but lord if I could go back I probably would have never had that many.
With that being said I love my children to death and give them all my all. Even the ones who are grown. Sometimes we have to think about ourselves!
