"I neglected to put in my diaphragm."

This story appears in the comments section of a New York Times article titled “Let’s Talk About My Abortion and Yours.”

I've had 2 abortions; one I was 33 & the other when I was 38. I regret neither.

They happened because in both cases, being only human with passionate hormones, I neglected to put in my diaphragm.

The first man was somewhat proud of his ability to "knock a woman up", though he did share the financial cost, but not the emotional.

I was engaged to the second man, who, when I told him I was pregnant, said " I want to be your only baby".

Neither man was capable of being a committed father-parent & I think children deserve to have two loving parents. Is it any wonder that I chose to abort?
